The perks of working with family and no budget. Stylist/Hair/Makeup/Producer/Script Girl/Grip/Translator/etc. We should be winning awards for multitasking.

So we’re going for a more subdued look, accented with colors. Definitely a more sophisticated French 60s look rather than a swinging London color-splosion.

I’m leaning towards the classic peter pan collar dress. It plays up the innocence and contrasts the sex bomb hair and makeup that I’m planning to do. A sturdy leather boot grounds the look.

Been collaborating with my genius brother for his personal film project. Should turn out to be quite a visual/auditory experience. Something about synesthesia.

I may or may not update with a recap of the most interesting shoot days I’ve been on for the past 3 weeks. But for now, I’m trying to create an inspiration board for a retro television show portion of the film, featuring some French speaking pixie.

All film aficionados have an obsession with the French Nouvelle Vague seductresses. It’s fact. How can you not be intrigued? A child-like innocence embodied in a languid body, dripping a cigarette between the fingers, staring past your soul with those smoldering kohl lined eyes.

Oh, and the whole French-speaking thing. Duh.

I’ve only compiled some beauty shots of Anna Karina and France Gall for now.

There’s something about a certain haircut and makeup that inspires a certain dress.

I’m envisioning something along the lines of this Beatles inspired shoot, from the September issue of V Magazine.
